All products available for sale on our website are listed with their condition. This short guide goes into detail about what each condition means so you can be confident when buying.

Refurb

Refurb covers refurbished and used parts. Often choosing refurb parts can offer a considerable cost saving.

Plastics listed as refurb may have marks and scratches on them due to prior use, with plastics refurb can be further sub categorised into grade B and grade C which tend to reflect light and heavy cosmetic damage respectively. If you need to know the exact condition of a part we have in stock please feel free to get in touch.

All refurb hard drives we have in stock have been tested and ship with a test report reflecting this.

New Open Box

New open box covers new parts not in manufacturer’s packaging or if the seal has been broken on this packaging.

There can be a number of reasons parts fall into this category. Some items simply do not come in this packaging to begin with, for example a lot of the LCDs we sell on the site are brand new but are shipped in bulk. Other parts may have been taken from a disassembled new machine such as a laptop. Plastics will be grade A (only extremely minor cosmetic damage).

Parts will not have been used other than for the purpose of testing they function, so hard drives for example may have a few hours usage on them.

New

New parts are unused parts still in their manufacturers packaging. This can include system boards in sealed boxes through to laptop bags in clear plastic outer bags.

Although these parts are the most expensive they often come with a manufacturer’s warranty for added peace of mind.
