It’s come to that time of year again where now is the time to start looking to buy presents for friends and family. Yet sometimes it can be difficult to buy for people and especially when buying for a tech head or a gamer. Often they will buy things  as and when they need them/ want them. So, this year to help with that, this knowledgebase will be a guide on what to buy those people, to try and help you find the perfect gift.

This year the theme is going to be “quality of life” because as mentioned before these people will tend to buy what they need or want when they can. The first thing we need to go through is the gifts that you shouldn’t get. Although the following are listed as bad gift ideas, they are only bad if the person you are buying them for hasn’t asked for them:

  1. Don’t buy them a video game unless you know what one they want. The reason this is a bad idea is because that person will have games that they are in to, so if you buy them a game that doesn’t suit them, that will be a waste of money as they wont force themselves to play something they don’t want to play.
  2. Don’t by them any internal computer hardware. This is because if you don’t know what they need, you could be wasting a huge amount of money when the person you’re buying it for may not want that brand or version of what you bought, so its best to only buy the hardware if you know exactly what they want/ need.

Now that we have got those out of the way its time to start looking at some ideas.

Smart Device

Now depending on who you are buying for, if you are looking here for ideas, they probably have a load of screens already, but a smart device could fit in quite nicely. Again, going back to the theme of “quality of life” a smart device is always a welcome addition to any set up as it can be used for reminders, timers and help control other devices in the household. So to have a device where this can all be in one place makes for an excellent gift idea as it makes their hobbies easier. One from our stock that I would suggest would be the Lenovo Smart Display 7.

Gaming Chair

If the person you are buying for is a gamer, unless they have already developed their set up with everything they need but chances are the last thing that they get to is the chair. Although it may not be the most important aspect as it doesn’t affect the games they play, it will affect how much they enjoy playing the game as they need to be comfortable. So if that persons chair either looks tired or broken perhaps its time you got them a new gaming chair. With us having a few chairs to recommend on our site, you should have a look at the range we offer.

Headsets

If the person you are buying for likes listening to music with their headphones on or enjoys playing games with their friends, a good headset is a key component to that. When looking for a headset, your best bet is to try and match the headset to the brands that their peripherals are, so if they have a SteelSeries keyboard and mouse, try and get them a SteelSeries headset as the software for these are shared so it will be easier for that person to get set up, it will also look nicer with their peripherals all being coherent. If you’re interested in getting a headset have a look at what we have in stock on our website

Laptop Bags

If the person you are buying for has a gaming laptop, then it might be ideal to look about getting them a new laptop bag. As its important to ensure your laptop is protected when travelling. Its important to find out the size of their laptop when searching for ones to buy as you wouldn’t want to get a bag too small for the laptop. We have a large variety of laptop bags and sleeves to browse in store now.

With that list of ideas there are also plenty other ideas you could look in to like stocking fillers. Now if the person you wish to buy for has all the tech mentioned in this list, then maybe look to buy items that help with cable management or look to repair any broken its they need repairing. With so many spare computer and console spare parts in stock you will be able to find what you need.
