Tekeurope marks 20 years (founded 2004). Growth includes moves to Totnes (2010) and Newton Abbot (2020), new MD (2016), apprentices, site/vehicle expansion, ecommerce launch (2020), environmental measures (solar, EV charging), Spain office (2022) and customs warehouse status (2023).

Established back in 2004, this week marks 20 years since the founding of Tekeurope.

The past 20 years has seen many events and changes, including 2 moves, a new Managing Director and the expansion of the business into new areas including repairs and ecommerce. Today we look back at some of the major events at Tekeurope over the last 2 decades.

2004 - Tekeurope founded

The company was incorporated on the 11th of June 2004.

2010 - Move to Totnes

With the expansion of the business a larger premises was required. As a result in 2010 the company moved from its location in Dartington to a new building in nearby Totnes.

2016 - John Barrett joins Tekeurope

Current Tekeurope Managing Director John Barrett joined the company in the summer of 2016. Towards the end of 2016 the first apprentice of the company’s ongoing apprenticeship program started at the business.

2018- Premises expansion and van purchase

In 2018 the company expanded its site in Totnes with the offices moving into a new area of the building. In the same year the first company van was purchased.

2019- New Building Purchased

2019 saw the purchase of a new, larger premises in Newton Abbot that would become the company’s new home less than a year later.

2020 - Move to Newton Abbot and website launch

In January 2020 Tekeurope moved from its location in Totnes to a larger, newly purchased building in Newton Abbot. The move was completed on the 1st February. October saw the launch of the company’s new website, tekeurope.co.uk, featuring an online store as well as company news and knowledgebase articles.

2021 - Environmental Plan and Building Work

Work on the new building continued in 2021 with installation of solar panels. This coincided with the launch of the company’s Environmental Plan, stating the company would “reduce the environmental impact from our business operations by reducing unnecessary waste, investing in greener technologies, and encouraging our workforce to take proactive steps”. On site electric car charging points followed a year later.

2022 - Tekeurope Spain

Tekeurope Spain was opened in March of 2022 to help with the process of importing and exporting to and from the European Union following Brexit.

2023 - Customs Warehouse

In 2023 the company became a customs warehouse, allowing greater supply chain efficiency and flexibility with the process of moving goods simplified.
