For our 2019 summer activity we had a weekend away travelling from Bradford-on-Avon to Bath on 3 narrowboats. We were joined on the trip by a handful of staff from one of our customers; SCC.  The weekend began in Bradford-on-Avon where we parked our cars, loaded up the boats and set off on a 1½ hour cruise to the Cross Guns in Avoncliff where we enjoyed our first meal and moored up for the evening.

The Cross Guns in Avon Cliff provided 1st class service and entertained us until the early hours on their lovely outside terrace by the canal. The first challenge of the weekend was faced on the return to the narrowboats where we had found that one of our boarding planks had gone missing! However, with a little bit of Dutch courage all members managed to make it safely into bed without taking a dip in the canal…

The next morning breakfast was served up on the boats which was well received by all. It was then down to our trusted captains to spend the majority of the next day guiding us through the peaceful canals, with a quick stop for lunch.

After a day of (mainly) peaceful cruising, we arrived at our destination, Bath city centre. From here, it was a short walk into town where we enjoyed an Indian meal, followed by a night exploring the delights of Bath’s bars and clubs.

On the final morning, we had another beautifully cooked breakfast and made the journey back to base.
