In a fast moving industry continuous professional development is extremely important. Ongoing training allows Tekeurope’s engineers to keep their knowledge current and to hone their skills. Formalised assessment also allows them to identify and fill in any gaps in their knowledge and passing it provides proof they possess the skills required to maintain the level of service and quality our customers expect.

Over the last few weeks Tekeurope’s engineers have been taking a number of HP’s online certification exams.  HP describes the benefits of having these qualifications on their website – “HP certification assures customers that HP Certified Professionals have the up-to-date ability, tools, methodologies, technical skills and resources required to meet business needs – and exceed expectations”

New Qualifications

Engineer Thomas Knott gained Service Qualification for Computing Exam and HP Commercial Desktops, Workstations and Notebooks Service Qualification Certifications.

Meanwhile Engineering Manager Stuart Blacklock was extremely busy and picked up no less than 19 new certificates. These included HP Diagnostics and Troubleshooting, HP Business PC and Personal Workstation Fundamentals and Service Qualification for Computing.

Staying Current

Due to the ever changing nature of the industry certifications are often updated. The content of certifications can change in order to reflect changes in the assessed technology itself and sometimes need to be revisited.

During the last few weeks engineer Logan Campbell and Tekeurope’s Senior Engineer John Mag have been retaking previously gained certifications which have changed in order to keep their knowledge and skills as up to date as possible.

All the engineers were given time away from their regular work in order to work on and complete these qualifications.
