Tekeurope’s Aiden Barrett reviews the Lenovo Legion Y44W-10 Gaming Monitor

“Setting up the monitor although at first daunting was actually quite easy, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by its size. The monitor came in three sections; the screen, the stand and the spine. The spine and the screen easily clipped into place, as the stand only needed on screw to twisted in for it to be stable and connected. This all made for a rather quick set up.

When it came to connecting the monitor to my PC I was given an array of options as to how I could connect them up either through USB-C HDMI or Display, all wires were also included in the box allowing for peoples preference. Once the PC was on it was as simple as adjusting the resolution to 3840×1200.

Regarding the quality of the monitor, the picture was very crisp especially when enabling HDR support within certain games. Alongside using an RTX 2070 you definitely saw the screen at its best. In addition, the 144hz refresh rate made for a very smooth experience. The monitor controls although not being a more modern joystick layout they were still very easy to understand and manoeuvre. A nice edition to the monitor is that is a USB charging port hidden at the bottom of the screen which can retract when not being used.

Overall, I think this Monitor is a very solid and clean bit of kit and I’m looking forward to having more fun and time with it in the future.”
