We are looking for a new Apprentice Warehouse Operative to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will work towards both a recognised Warehouse Operative Certificate and a national forklift license.

Staff are entitled to 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays off (all fully paid), this increases annually, based on length of service at the company. Job Description:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the successful candidates will undertake a variety of duties within our warehouse. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

Pay range depends on age and skill set.

The role is 40 hours a week 9-6 Monday to Friday at our warehouse on the Milber Trading Estate in Newton Abbot. Overtime is often available. Protective workwear and a company uniform are provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting goods as they arrive, ensuring they are not damaged, liaising with our Engineering and Returns teams regarding any issues.
  • Booking in goods that have arrived using our stock system to locations within the warehouse. You will be required to use safety steps as our shelving reaches about 4m high.
  • Picking parts from the warehouse that are required for orders using picking notes generated by our system.
  • Undertaking stock control including stock checking locations and relocating parts within the warehouse using our computer system.
  • Booking out and packing parts required for orders. This can involve creating consignment shipping labels and ensuring they have the required paperwork and invoices. We ship both in the UK and worldwide.
  • Keeping your work area clean and tidy, ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required within the warehouse

Qualifications and skills

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • You will be using Microsoft Office and our stock system software so a basic level of computer literacy is required. Full training in using the software will be provided.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A team player who can recognise when things need to be done and a willingness to help out when necessary.
  • Although most parts aren’t heavy, some packaging can be awkward to handle, so physical fitness is necessary.

£5.28-£12.88 per hour
