Today marks one year since the launch of the company’s website tekeurope.co.uk. Over the past year the site has allowed Tekeurope to expand into the home user market as well as reach new business customers. The launch of the website, which was designed by Ampology, was the culmination of many months planning, input and work by staff across the company. 

When the site initially went online a year ago it featured 1,200 parts in it’s webshop- primarily screens, hard drives, batteries and AC adapters. Today the the shop offers more than 5,000 parts available for purchase across a diverse range of categories. This increase has in part been driven by the acquisition of partnerships with major gaming brands such as Steelseries as well as by the listing of more of the company’s existing stock.  March saw the launch of the Laptop Spares section, allowing customers to search for parts by machine, which has proven extremely popular.

As well as an increase in the number of products available the amount of other content on the site has continued to grow. The Knowledge Base section was introduced earlier this year and features articles written by staff on a range of IT related topics from security to gaming. The news section features updates on events at the company and has featured company social events, the construction of the new roof and new industry partnerships. The introduction of the live chat feature has allowed more direct communication with customers using the site.

Work online has not been limited to the website. The last year has seen the expansion of the company’s other ecommerce shops on eBay and Amazon. Additionally Tekeurope now has regularly updated social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

The last year has seen major improvements to both the website as well company’s other e-commerce and social media platforms. With future changes currently in the works this looks set to continue into the website’s second year.
