In response to an increasing amount of international shipments the company has started to put staff forward to gain Carriage of Dangerous Goods By Air certification. A number of goods fall under dangerous goods rules in the IT hardware industry including batteries for laptops and uninterruptable power supplies.

Charlie Miarowski and Jamie Moore became the first 2 candidates to gain the qualification after completing the 3 day course and subsequent exam with both Robbie Turley and Tom Heyworth following shortly afterwards. In mid June Dan Green and Kyle Kingman became the final 2 members of staff to receive their results and qualify taking the number of qualified staff to 6.

About the Certification

The Civil Aviation Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air qualification allows individuals to handle and transport dangerous goods by air in compliance with international regulations. This qualification is recognised worldwide and is required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The qualification involves training on proper handling, packaging, labelling, and documentation of dangerous goods that will be transported by air. The training covers the different types of dangerous goods and their properties, as well as the potential hazards they pose. It also covers the rules and regulations for the safe transport of dangerous goods, including International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Individuals with the qualification are responsible for ensuring that dangerous goods are transported safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Accreditation

The company received it’s courier dangerous goods audit in the first week of June, the audit checked both the processes in place and packing practices in the warehouse. As a result Tekeurope is now able to ship dangerous goods by air, allowing shipments of a wider range of goods to international customers. We would like to thank all staff involved for their hard work.
